Museum Mysteries: A Hatteras Island Halloween Tour

Join us for a stop on your spooky ride through your favorite Hatteras Island museums as we explore myths and tales from the region. Historian Danny Couch will  weave four captivating tales about the haunted past of Hatteras Island from 1 to 1:45 p.m. in our meeting room:

Hannah the yaupon chopper

“Hannah and Mary loved the same boy,

He brought them both promises of joy.

Soon it would be that the young women would clash,

Hannah murdered Mary and dumped her in the Slash.”

The mystery tour also includes stops the same day at three other nearby museums:

11-11:45 a.m. Chicamacomico Life Saving Station, Rodanthe (Admission)

2 – 2:45 p.m. Frisco Native American Museum & Natural History Center, Frisco: Encounter Native American stories about Wendigos, The Piasa, The Uktena, Chiye-Tanka (Bigfoot) and more.  (Half-price admission)

3 – 3:45 p.m.  Lost Colony Museum, Buxton (donation requested)
