A ship’s chandler is the retail merchant who supplied ships and their crew before they went to sea, and the Meekins family name is among the oldest along the Outer Banks.
Our museum gift shop is an homage to the two, specializing in unique gifts and coastal treasures. We carry a wide ranging selection of historic nonfiction and children’s books, delicious snacks produced in North Carolina, pins highlighting area landmarks, maritime-themed Christmas ornaments, home decor, pirate toys and games, mermaids, postcards, T-shirts and so much more.
